A summer treat, our soft shell crabs are flown in live from Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay, the premier spot for these crustaceans. Often mistaken for a species, soft shells are actually blue crabs that have shed their hard outer shells. Part of their delicacy is in catching them during this short summer window of molting. While they can be prepared many ways, our favorite is battered, fried, and added to a BLT or salad. Note, we deliver them cleaned and gutted to you so you can eat the entire crab (shell, legs, & all).
